Dance Bag
Your
child will need a dance bag for their dance shoes and clothing. All
coats, outdoor shoes, and school bags will be left in the student lounge.
Each child will take their dance bag into the classroom for shoe changes.
Please remember to label your child’s belongings.
Student Conduct
Dance Atlantic will not tolerate the use of drugs, alcohol, or any
disrespect to the staff or classmates. Any misconduct in these areas
is grounds for immediate dismissal from class and the possibility of
removal from the dance/tumbling programs. I believe the student’s
mind and body should be at it’s best! My staff and I will continue
to promote a healthy lifestyle, positive attitudes, and good personal
hygiene.
Health Issues
If your child has any health related concerns that the staff
should be aware of, please document your information and turn it in to the
office. All staff members will be informed accordingly. If
your child has an elevated temperature, missed a day of school for
illness, head lice, or any other infectious disease, please be considerate
of the other students and staff and keep them home. This will help reduce
the spread of illness throughout the studio.
Attendance
Good attendance is imperative. One student’s excessive absence
or tardiness can affect an entire class. As long as your child is
healthy, it is best if they do not miss class.
Class
Observation
Parents’ and grandparents’ observation days are
scheduled for the first week of class, one week in December, and again in
April. This time is for the parents and grandparents to view the students
in their classroom and observe the progress their child is making
throughout the year. A closed classroom will be in effect for all
remaining days of the year.
Student Lounge
A lounge has been provided for the students as a space to hang
their coats and school bags, keep their street shoes, as well as, a place
to wait for students who have a break between classes, students that are
waiting for their class to begin, and where parents can meet their child
at class dismissal.
Weather
The studio will close classes due to inclement weather when
Atlantic schools dismiss early or cancel classes. Announcements will also
be made on KJAN 1220 AM, KSOM 96.5 FM, and KS 95.7 FM.
Other Fees
A $45.00 registration/recital fee is required at the time of
registration for each student enrolling in classes.
Tuition
Tuition is due the first week of each month. A $10 late fee
is automatically posted to your account if tuition is not received by the
10th. Monthly tuition remains the same regardless of holiday
vacations, illness, or other classes missed by the student. Snow days will
be made up with a maximum of 3 missed classes being rescheduled. You may
pay your tuition for the entire year, quarterly, or by the month. All
accounts will also be debited for ½ month’s tuition for the month of June.
Family discounts are applied to accounts as follows, 20% for 2 children
enrolled in classes, and 25% for 3 or more children enrolled in classes.
Credit Cards
Dance Atlantic accepts all forms of payments including cash, personal
checks, and debit cards. We also accept Visa, Master Card, Discover
and American Express. The studio charges a $20.00 returned check
fee.
Adding or
Dropping Classes
The last day to add or drop classes from your child’s schedule
is November 30th.
Choreography
and Copyright
Dance Atlantic’s choreography is protected by national copyright
laws and requires that all students and families obtain permission before
using any routines outside the studio for personal events. These laws also
prevent the public from videotaping the studio’s annual recital without
the expressed written consent of the owner.
Senior Dances
Each year the graduating seniors are given the opportunity to
perform a solo, duet, etc. for the year-end recital. These dances may be
self choreographed or choreographed by the instructor. If the
student chooses the instructor to choreograph and teach the routine, there
is a charge of $100.00, which includes the chorography, instruction, and
practice time.
